In a recent lifestyle fitting, we helped put one clients in Dulwich put the final touches on their minimal and modern living room of their home that stands very close to the famous college.

Dulwich is an area of London with some of the most stunning areas of parkland the city has to offer and is the home to many many families.

And one of these families approached us to help them provide a window dressing option for a very large window in their living room. As the window where we fitted our shutters was a high and wide bay window, our expert surveyor informed our client to opt for a Tier on Tier style of shutter to which they agreed. Tier on Tier is the perfect choice for this room as the windows are so large. And because the windows are so large, Café Style would have been redundant as the vacant space of the window would have let in an intrusive amount of natural light.

The flexibility and control that comes with the selection of Tier on Tier was the key to the client’s decision on this style and with the summer here, or at least on the way, it was a well timed decision. And choosing MDF shutters made the choice very affordable as well. With this more economical option of material doesn’t come with any risk to the integrity and lifespan of the product at all meaning our client will enjoy their shutters for some time to come. This makes MDF one of our most popular shutter materials.

Our client’s choice of colour being Pure White and the fashionable In Vogue louvre size of 76mm suited the style of their modern and neutrally coloured sitting room and as you can see from the picture above, the client had to opt for large slats as the window is vulnerable to large burst of light. So the light would act as less of an intrusion because the slats are closer together to occupy the size of the panels, thus reducing light. And with the choice of not having a tilt rod, our client can open and close the shutters with ease.
