Is Netflix's Offering to the Grand Designs Fan Worth It?

A dream houseboat, a Russian Doll-style house, a couple of Chicago Cubs fanatics and an aquarium are just a few of the wondrous examples of lovable interior design and architecture insanity that awaits you in Netflix’s ‘Amazing Interiors’.

In the wake of Channel 4’s announcement that the man himself, Kevin McCloud, will be gracing our screens yet again for another extraordinary season of Grand Designs, Netflix has shown up as a surprise competitor for our attention.

Netflix’s ‘Amazing interiors’ takes itself a little less seriously than Grand Designs in that the mass cross-section of styles and tastes in each home divides the entire viewership which results in a fantastic haul of inspiration for all. From England to Israel, the international spread of the homes covered in each show adds new flavours to the approach in terms of culture and astounding levels of passionate individualism on top.

What we loved about it more than anything was how each individual played with space. Each endeavour was constructed just for them and their wants and desires from their home and that didn’t stop them in any of their endeavours to make it so. Just as an example the retired Israeli scuba diver didn’t want to let go of what he loved, so he had a giant aquarium he could dive into installing in his home!

Whether it’s for sustainability, a stylistic switch over or a passion that refuses to be extinguished, each property throughout the series will highlight the wonderful power of brilliant insanity. Backed up by sheer determination to make it a reality and not just remain a dream. Something for all to take on board.

While both shows carry a different tone, they are both just as lovable for their illustration of creative flair that can be cultivated in any design project which results in collected inspiration for all.

Great quality shutters & fitted to perfection. Slight delay because of COVID-19, but communication and service was great throughout.
