We recently completed a stunning full house shutter installation in London, fitting shutters across sash windows in six rooms of the property. The result is a clean, elegant finish that perfectly complements the home’s modern interior style.
All shutters were finished in the beautiful shade Ivory Lace, a timeless colour choice that blended seamlessly with the client’s walls and enhanced the bright, airy feel of each room. To complete the look, we used brushed nickel hinges, adding a subtle contemporary touch. This was only different in the bathroom, where the client opted for stainless steel hinges to ensure they would be waterproof in the moisture-prone environment.
To maintain the home’s sleek and straight-line aesthetic, the shutters were designed without tilt rods, creating a streamlined and uncluttered appearance.
For the slat size, the client selected our popular 76mm mid-size louvres — the ideal balance between large and small. This size allows plenty of natural light into the rooms while still offering excellent privacy and control.
The shutters were crafted from Pearlwood, our fully timber material with hardwood panels and frames. This is truly our premium material known for it’s durability, smooth finish, and exceptional longevity.
Across most of the home, the client opted for tier-on-tier shutters, offering maximum flexibility by allowing the top and bottom sections to open independently. This is a fantastic option for homeowners who want both privacy and light control throughout the day. This home is a perfect showcase how perfectly tier on tier work in the bedrooms, in the lounge or in the bathrooms.
The only exception was the utility room, where the smaller window size made full height shutters the perfect choice. These were designed without hidden breaks or divider rails, giving the window a clean and uninterrupted finish, making the most of the window space.
