We recently worked in a lovely home just off Clapham Common Southside in a series of beautiful rooms throughout this Wandsworth house. But we think that you’ll all agree that this stunning bathroom stands out brighter than the rest with those extraordinary hanging lights and intricate pieces that puts it right to the top of our A-list projects.
As part of our sale at the start of this year, our client wanted two of our outstanding shutter materials to be used throughout their home, those being Hardwood and Permawood. They chose these materials for a dressing room, two bathrooms, a bedroom and a landing. But it was the Tier on Tier in the Hardwood material in the main ensuite bathroom that caught our eye more than anything.
When it came to this room, our client wanted a window dressing option to add for the sake of their privacy more than anything, but also due to the amount of space that was available next to the loo and bath itself being very slim. Curtains would have made claim to most of the room, making it very cramped and almost impossible to use. The wall-hugging nature of interior window shutters made them the perfect option for this stunning room.
The client opted for Tier on Tier as a style of shutter as, along with their basic need for privacy; they desired an aspect of flexibility concerning control of natural light entering the room. So this was a great option for the client as this style is made to cater to both of these requirements.
Once the style had been decided on, next came the need to pick the material of shutter for the room. The Hardwood option was an excellent one for the client with its mixture of materials that make up the panels, it’s a very light weight option that doesn’t compromise one the build quality of durability of the product with a MDF frame and the panels in solid wood. And while most bathrooms, including another bathroom in this home, chose the Permawood option for its heightened durability against direct contact with water, this bathroom doesn’t have a shower. This means that the risk of water damage is reduced and the client was able to choose this great cost-effective option.
With the window in this bathroom being tall, the client was very right to choose the Tier on Tier option and with that, the panels would still be quite large so the louvres that take up this space had to be the right size as to not overpopulate the panels and make it look cramped. So with that the client opted for the very fashionable Modern slat size that we offer of 89mm that allows for a large glow of natural light, even when the slats are mostly closed. And with the light from one of the hanging light fixtures emitting that pattern of light, alongside the shutters, it looks extra special.
And the last option that the client had to make after all these was the colour and with this room already bathed in white with small touches of different colours added to the mix and the warm yellow glow of the lights, it was no surprise that they went for Silk White colour of the panels and white fixings as to conform to the room’s calming design and feel.
And with that final decision made we sent off our clients designs and within a couple of months they had their stunning set of made to measure, interior window shutters fitted by our outstanding team of in-house fitters and this bathroom and the rest of the rooms in this house were completed and ready for them to enjoy.
