Down a tree-lined street not far from the River Thames is our client’s home in Putney. This home is flowing with wonderful style proving that there’s no need for overenthusiastic bursts of colour to give a space personality. That’s one of the most spectacular differences that our shutters make to a room too. Hugging the window space freeing up the surrounding space for furniture that may not have fitted.
After enjoying her café style shutters in the bedrooms for many years, our client Joanna decided it was time to return and get shutters for her back door in the kitchen dining space. Understanding our client’s needs is one of the most important parts of our jobs, so we can appropriately advise based on their requirements. Joanna found that there were a high number of people in the area due to the proximity to the River Thames and Putney Train station. So adding some extra privacy for her home was the main priority as well as matching the rest of the homes’ windows.
Joanna’s shutters are one of our most popular materials, Hardwood. It offers excellent value for money with the fantastic build quality and a beautiful finish. It provides a furniture-quality solid wood product with a paint finish across the shutters at an entry-level price, making it an excellent alternative to the premium hardwoods. She then opted for the In Vogue 76mm slat size which is not only incredibly stylish but also one of the larger slat sizes allowing for the maximum amount of light to brighten up the room. Finally, she chose our Silk White paint finish with bright brass hinges so that it would melt into the space matching the colours of the wall seamlessly. Also, all of these specs match her other shutters so there is consistency throughout the home.
