We love it when companies think of our time and time again when it comes to interior window shutters. Huxley Land have been fantastic partners over the past few years and we’ve installed shutters for them and their clients on numerous occasions. The latest of which, is a house split up into three flats just around the corner from us.
Just off the home of Wandsworth Council and the constantly updating Southside Shopping Centre, Huxley Land had a series of troublesome windows in three separate flats within the same building that needed covering and with not a huge amount of space to play with. So they called us up and we sent over our most experienced surveyor to have a look and suggest a few options.
For the three flats were a series of rooms that demanded different window covering solutions because of their positions, the amount of space they needed and the individual needs of Huxley Land’s client.
Huxley Land expressed to us that their client was looking to maintain a level of privacy from onlookers from the street but at the same time wanted ample access to natural light so of course, our surveyor suggested Café Style as a shutters style to them as the panels cover half of the window frame and this allows for everything their client wanted.
With this, Huxley Land had Café Style shutters in every room in the apartments but for Full Height in three separate bedrooms where of course the client would want more protection from natural light than exposure. In these bedrooms were a tall window and quite a large bay window that were in need of a window dressing option. That’s the amazing thing about the service we offer at Plantation Shutters. We understand that all homes and people are different so we offer a broad cross-section of shutter styles to suit everyone’s styles and needs.
When it came to deciding on the colour of the shutters, Huxley Land stayed true to the bright designs of their spaces and they want the panels to sync in with the colour schemes of the room. So we suggested one of our most popular colours, Pure White, and as you can see from the pictures here that they work perfectly with the wall colour and the loud colours that they introduced to add a splash of personality to each room. With the Brushed Nickel fittings as well, the room doesn’t look completely conformed to one colour.
When it came to slat sizes for the space, Huxley Land told us that the client wanted the space to be uniformed with, in some of the rooms, there is more than one window that was average size. So with that our surveyor suggested the Classic size of 64mm with no tilt rod which is a great choice for these kinds of windows as we wouldn’t want to suggest any specifications that would over occupy the space which isn’t a good aesthetic decision.
