A healthy workforce is an effective workforce at Plantation Shutters Ltd

We’ve been having a reshuffle here Plantation Shutters Ltd in light of ongoing government advice on keeping healthy throughout the continuously changing situation across the UK, and we thought we’d share. Here are some of the steps we’ve taken to ensure that business continues to run as usual with current 100% staff attendance retained where possible.  


Firstly, let’s shuffle…

Our day to day office structure sees us sat in pods; surveyors, sales, marketing, accounts, logistics and management all one cohesive team in our main office room. We work closely to allow for a busy and vibrant office atmosphere with teams in constant communication and feeding information as necessary and allowing for a generally social atmosphere. In light of new government guidelines, we have spread the office out with everyone working a minimum of 2 meters away from one another. We are also working between two rooms rather than one to allow more space between colleagues and for the movement of desks to accommodate this extra space. We are regularly sanitising surfaces, keyboards and phones on our desks, being mindful of distances we keep from one another when we do move around areas. Staff are also being conscious of their movements outside of working hours to maintain office health, reporting and self-isolating should any concerns be raised which ensures continued safety of colleagues and other occupants in their homes.

‘The rounds’

Working out of the same office everyday sees our team make our way through numerous cups of tea and coffee, as is very much the case with most offices. We replicate a pub approach to this and do ‘rounds’ amongst staff allowing us to keep hydrated with only a couple of individual trips to the kitchen per day. In light of updated information, we have made changes to our routine and started fending for ourselves with our caffeine fixes. This ensures that contact on the same cup handles is eliminated which further reduces contact between staff and ensures that social distancing can be better implemented.

Hand washing

All the staff at Plantation Shutters Ltd have made a commitment to frequently and thoroughly wash their hands, especially after touching shared surfaces such as bannisters and door handles. This helps ensure that prevention from anything being passed from surface to desks is increased.

All the extra measures we have put in place are with a view to protect everyone in the workforce and our customers. We are still working at 100% capacity and we fully intend to keep it that way. We’re still coming out to measure and fit for all available customers with teams taking extra precautions to allow this service to continue as normal.
