Lavish luxury is found throughout this Surrey home for Gina and her family. This period conversion is an amalgamation of contemporary styled and deep-rooted character.
Driving through the leafy Surrey surroundings creates such a nostalgic feel to this gated Elizabethan development. On entrance, you are greeted by security on the gate and directions are passed on, as a visitor, ready to explore the majesties around you. On approaching the property, we were greeted by exposed red brick buildings, and in the corner of a gravel stone carpark, Gina’s four-storey home.
On entering the property, there is a distinct Modern Victorian feel. The downstairs dining, living area is a spacious and airy room. High ceilings in a crisp white, with gothic style architectural design for the windows and a large wooden dining table as the centrepiece. The scent of Inspiritus candles filled the air in the room, to create a homely and relaxing effect. Gina chose two panels, full height with bright brass fittings for her shutters, creating style and comfort for the room.
As we explored upstairs, along the painted wooden staircase, we came across the second floor. The first children’s bedroom and the main living room. The main living room, clearly the entertaining hub of the family home, was an extensive combination of character and style. The neutral tones created a background for the pop of personality dotted throughout the room. Gina is an avid fan of Dachshund’s, which is made clear in this room, with quaint accessories on the couple chairs and unique artwork located on the window sill. Again, the beautiful windows steal the room, with high gothic arches, our full height shutters develop the style and panache. The painted exposed floorboards introduce a contemporary feel, creating a contrasting effect to the traditional feel.
The master bedroom in this property was a practical mixture of style, character and elegance. On entering the room, we were greeted again by the gothic styled arched windows, this time our shutters were aligned with black curtains, in indigo, purple tone. An antique dressing table centred the dressing area, in front of fitted, white wardrobes – perfect for much-needed storage. The mixture of furniture styles in this room gave its main character. Almost like a novel, with a Lewis Carroll feel - outlandish, but extraordinary and classic.
