A stone’s throw away from our offices in Battersea, our clients were after a window dressing for their upstairs living room in their flat. Like so many areas in London, Battersea is increasingly a popular area for plantation shutters.
Despite their living room being located upstairs, privacy was still of concern. Plantation shutters were the ideal option for our clients as they offer privacy yet retaining flexible light control throughout the day, as well as being a stylish and timeless window dressing option. With one of our in-house surveyors on hand to assist our clients, Jack measured and discussed design with our clients.
The clients choose to have tier on tier style shutters, as the clients liked both the style and practicalities. The tier on tier style covers the entire area of the window but there are independent panels on both top and bottom, which open like a stable door. This means you are able to make the most of the light whilst providing complete privacy.
Material used was our most cost effective option, Craftwood MDF. Whilst saving on cost this material does not compromise on build quality. Due to its durability and easy maintenance, it is popular amongst our clients. It is often used in high traffic areas, making it a fantastic option for our client’s living room. MDF, like all our range of materials, are resistant to chipping, cracking, fading and warping. So you can be sure you are in safe hands with our shutters. The clients also opted for a traditional, centred tilt rod, which pairs beautifully with the tier on tier style.
As the clients liked the traditional and timeless style of shutter, Jack recommended choosing our classic range of louvres. This range has smaller louvres which does mean that there's marginally less light than the larger louvres when they're open but does add a cosy ambience in the room. To finish, clients opted for the silk white colour finish, which blended perfectly with their living room.
