In a recent South London project we fitted these gorgeous shutters in this cute little bedroom in a family home just off the huge Burgess Park and I think you can agree that they make a huge difference to the light in the room.
In the bustling area of Walworth, as part of the Southwark borough is a broad expanse of people, from the students and market lovers of Elephant and Castle to the cricket fanatics that frequent the Kia Oval. And thanks to the stunning Burgess Park, it’s fast becoming a great spot for families as well.
For this project, our client was looking for a window dressing fixture to help this slightly cramped bedroom. And as curtains would have taken up even more space and the windows themselves are very narrow, interior window shutters were the perfect option.
The client was looking for a budget friendly option for the room and had no concerns with the weight of the panels so our expert surveyor suggested that they choose the MDF material of shutters as they are the most cost effective shutter material that we offer in our range and just as good as our other materials when it comes to durability as they don’t warp, crack, fade or chip over their very long life span.
With the material being chosen the client then had to choose the design of the shutters and as you can see, the windows are both very tall, slim and there’s a lot of light that shines through meaning that Full Height was the perfect option to allow for flexible use while providing as close a black out effect as possible. This meaning that the room itself is actually a good spot to sleep. Café style would have left the top half open and overbear the room with sunlight which isn’t useful for a bedroom and Tier on Tier would have cramped up the window with multiple panels.
Once those had been chosen the next choice to be made was the louvre size and as the frame of the panels is tall and slim, the Louvres had to be of a size as not to cramp the space within the frame and so not actually block the sunlight, even if the slats are open. So our client opted for the very fashionable In Vogue option of 76mm which is in between our main offers of slat size, making it the perfect compromise. And with a mid rail in the lower half of each of the panels, it really helped break up the appearance of the panels which many of our other clients with tall windows like to do.
With the physical aspects of the shutters picked out by the client, all that was left to choose was the colours for them to come in and with the room being made up white walls and bright colours of the lovely toys and colourful bed, Pure White with White fittings were the perfect options to help the stunning new shutters blend in well with the room and we think they look amazing.
And with all the choices made, our client placed an order and within a couple of months, our team of professional and courteous fitting team went round to their home and fitted their brand new set of beautiful shutters.
