2020 has brought new and exciting avenues for Plantation Shutters and we know many of our friends in similar industries have made some changes of their own to adapt to new working scopes.
Our team have enjoyed the opportunity to work on some fantastic projects throughout the year as we see the landscape for interior projects changing both in client’s preferences and how shutters are being expertly paired to room aesthetics. More individuality is shining through in interior designs and colour pallets are shifting to favour bursts of colour in furnishings and shutter window dressings. You can’t go wrong with a classic white shutter, but it is certainly exciting to see different takes on shutter finishes.
In March, we introduced virtual measure appointments which have continued to provide a fantastic opportunity for us to pre-peek at windows and consult on shutter possibilities before calling out for a full site visit. Clients love chatting through what they are looking for with their window on screen, and we love getting a 5 minute glimpse into homes to help dream up their perfect shutters! This initial conversation opens more time for complex bits of measuring and a focused design consultation with samples by our expert surveyors who are fully informed ahead of measure appointments.
We are excited that Plantation Shutters geographical location has also once again grown this year as we introduced our Plantation South franchiser, Allister, to the team. Allister joins Andrew, our Kent, Sussex and Surrey representative, to open up the Hampshire country right down to Bournemouth and brings with him an incredibly practical, detailed, and accurate approach to consultations and installations. With Allister on board, we are thrilled to be able to offer even more fabulous clients our measure and fitting service on the best quality shutter product on the market.
We have always loved the challenge of different windows, locations and job sizes and this year our experts have worked on more large-scale projects than ever before, really tapping into our technical and logistical strengths. You’d struggle to effectively plan for installation of an 80-window project around Christmas, requiring 6 fitters for 2 days, amongst hundreds of deliveries, if you weren’t the best in the business with an all in-house team! From multi-building complexes to cruise ships, we’ve been kitting out some fantastic locations and can’t wait to finalise some other exciting works in the pipeline.
It’s a mystery for all where the next year will take us but with 38 years and counting under our belt, we are very much excited to see what challenges and exciting opportunities 2021 will bring for shutters and other design and construction areas... bring it on!
