The specification of these shutters vary slightly giving each a unique finish in the room, that is the beauty of shutters after all!
Looking at the taller of the single panelled shutters pictured, this has been crafted from our MDF material. MDF is often a popular choice where waterproof is not selected. Although this is not a waterproof material, the polypropylene coating makes it a good match for bathroom aesthetics featuring tiled cills such as here, or on similar finishes. This shutter has been made in a full height style with a hidden break and without a tilt rod. In the absence of a tilt rod, these 64mm slats are manoeuvred using a hidden cog mechanism whereby slats are controlled by simply pushing a singular slat in the section.
The central image displays our Aluminium Security shutters which are a fantastic choice for any window but particularly ground floor windows or those that may be slightly more vulnerable. The security of these shutters is achieved using an Italian bolt locking system which secures panels into place. There are some design features that come with Aluminium Security Shutters as a standard, these are 89mm slats and a hidden tilt rod. Of the three colour choices available in Aluminium shutters, the beautiful satin white colour has been chosen for this shutter which is a lovely white tone with white hinges to match in these full height shutters.
On the third shutter image, our waterproof material has been used to protect against high levels of moisture and condensation the bathroom. The notable thing about this window in comparison to others is that it is located just above the bathtub so would be more susceptible to direct contact with water. This is exactly where waterproof is best used. 76mm slats have been selected to pair with the painted silk white finish with stainless steel hinges which come as a standard on our waterproof finishes to ensure longevity in the water-resistant fixings.
There are many benefits that come with installing shutters. Thanks to this robust and luxurious window dressing you will enjoy increased privacy without sacrificing light levels in the room by simply manoeuvring slats to an angled position which with hinder the view into the room but still allow natural light to shine through.
Temperature benefits can also be enjoyed by having shutters in front of your windows in that you can open slats in front of an open window to allow a breeze through into the room on hot days or the additional thick cover in front of windows where this heat can escape from.
