In the heart of Wandsworth, down a picturesque street lined with beautifully painted white Georgian homes live our client Nic and his family. Slightly standing out from the rest of the homes on the street with a light grey exterior and grey front door, Nic wanted to continue this statement inside his home with our shutters.
As you enter this home you are immediately welcomed into their space and know that every design has been well thought out giving everything a place and purpose. The design of the bathroom matched their minimalistic style and they wanted something to match that for their bathroom window. After researching all window covering avenues, they couldn’t ignore the fact that shutters were the best option for them and what they wanted to achieve. A clean and seamless window covering.
Our shutters were installed onto their bathroom sash window to provide the perfect balance of privacy and light control. With shutters you don’t need to compromise on these two important factors. They opted for tier on tier allowing them to open up the top tier for natural light to stream in while having the bottom tier closed for that much-needed privacy. No one wants someone peering in while they are in the bathroom. They went back and forth with the decision to have a tilt rod or not and in the end, they decided that having the shutters without the tilt rod was the best decision to match their minimalistic clean interior design.
When it came to selecting the material, they wanted something cost-effective while still offering a durable and smooth finish and our Craftwood material offers just that. It is also a great value for money option. Their colour that was chosen for their shutters and fittings was Pure White to match the colours of the walls and completely melt into the space making it apart of the window itself. The slat size that was chosen was our In Vouge (76mm) size which offers the best of both worlds with fewer slats per panel bringing in ultimate sunshine while still also offering a simpler finish and cosier feel.
