Dining Room Shutters FAQ
Can I match my shutters to my dining room décor?
Yes, your shutters are made for you and your home so whatever you are looking to do with design or colouring we can help. Can’t find the colour you want in our standard library? Not to worry, custom colouring is available in our Hardwood, Pearlwood and Ultra Wood materials.
I want versatile use of light for my dining room when I’m entertaining – what is the best style for me?
If you want to be able to carefully control the light levels of your room using your shutters, we recommend a full height shutter with either a divider rail or hidden break or a tier on tier style shutter. Each of these styles offers the opportunity to control light in the top and bottom of the panel separately so you can let as much, or as little, light in as you like.
Are shutters easy to clean?
Yes, shutters are easy to clean. You can regularly dust your shutters with an ostrich feather duster which we provide as a gift from us to you at your installation appointment. For a deeper clean, or to remove a mark or stain you can give the entire window structure a gentle rubdown with a dry and clean cloth on both sides. Follow this by dampening a cloth with warm water and wipe on all visible surfaces. Never spray directly on the shutters themselves – it is important not to use cleaning solutions that can potentially damage the shutter surfaces. Wipe away the liquid with another dry-cleaning cloth and never allow the liquid to dry on the surface, as this may leave water marks or stains. For more information you can check out our aftercare guide.
Benefits of Dining Room Shutters
For such a special and important place in the home, the space requires a stylish yet practical window dressing option. Shutters are an excellent option for a dining room space and becoming increasingly popular for both practicalities and style. Window shutters can virtually blend with any home, from period homes to more contemporary style ones. From the large range of materials, colours and finishes they fuse perfectly with every interior design taste and vision.
A great benefit of interior shutters when compared with other window dressing options is that they are a more flexible and functional. They allow you the option of altering amount of light which can be altered dependent on the mood or amount of privacy required. And for the dining room windows, privacy is something that is likely to be at the very top of the priority list.
Our shutters come in a wide range of styles to suit your needs. You can opt for the full height which covers the whole space of the window and it is very popular amongst those customers looking for a bit more privacy or you could go for café style shutters which covers the bottom half of your window leaving the top un-shuttered.
There is also a good variety of materials options for you to choose from. The good news is that we offer the widest variety of shutter materials in the UK starting from the Craftwood MDF option which is our entry level product and is ideal for those customers looking for a cost-effective option and for those looking to have a premium product, Pearlwood shutters would certainly be the right option.
