1. How do I schedule a shutter installation appointment?

We will be in touch to arrange a suitable installation date that works with your busy family schedule. Our installation appointments are available on weekdays, we ensure flexibility to accommodate your commitments.

2. How should I prepare for the installation of my shutters?

On the day of installation, there are a few things you can do to prepare. We kindly ask that the area where the shutters will be installed is clear, and any existing window dressings have been taken down. This helps us work efficiently and ensures a smooth installation process. Please ensure that your windows/doors are clear of wires, cables, or any other obstructions that may hinder the fitting of the shutters.

3. What is the shutter installation process?

Our expert fitters arrive promptly, equipped with vans loaded for the day’s installations. After navigating traffic and finding suitable parking near your property, our team unloads the necessary tools and equipment. Before beginning the installation, we assess the window area to ensure everything is ready for work to commence.

Each job is unique, with lots of different window types available. Our team adapts to the specific requirements of your windows, providing tailored solutions for your home.

Step by Step of Shutter Installation:

1. Window assessment: Our team evaluates the window recesses and window frame to determine the best approach for installation.
2. Area preparation: Dust sheets are laid down to protect your floors and furniture. We carefully measure and mark any necessary drilling holes.
3. Shutter Installation: The shutters are meticulously fitted to ensure a perfect fit. Our team utilises power tools to securely install the shutters, ensuring they operate smoothly and effortlessly.
4. Shutter Quality Check: Once installed, we double-check that the shutters open and close smoothly and operate as they should. The area is then tidied, cleaned, and hoovered. Your room is left in pristine condition.
5. Demonstration of how to use your shutters: If you’re home during the installation, we provide a quick demonstration. We will show you how to operate, open and close, care for and clean your new shutters. As a token of appreciation, you’ll also receive a complimentary ostrich feather duster to help maintain your shutters.

What area do you cover?+-

As the friendly company we are, Plantation would love to opportunity to come out to every property in the UK to share the Plantation experience. If we could, we would! We work in London and the surrounding areas for a measuring and fitting service. Based in Battersea, South West London, we carry out a lot of work locally and within the neighbouring boroughs. For those further afield, we can organise the delivery of shutters to the entire UK.

Do you employ all your fitters?+-

Yes, we employ all our own fitters. With 40 years’ experience, you can expect a friendly, personalised service from our knowledgeable all in-house team.

Can I fit shutters myself?+-

We offer a SUPPLY ONLY service whereby the shutters are made based on your measurements and design specifications. The shutters are then sent directly to you for self-fitting. Our DIY service is a great option if you live outside London but want a high-quality product. Other than that, we rarely recommend the DIY approach as this is often not the best course of action. Allowing a company with the right experience to do it for you is often better.

How long do the shutters take to arrive?+-

Our Express Faux Wood shutters will take approximately 4-6 weeks. All other materials will take between 8-12 weeks to arrive. As soon as we have delivery confirmation, we will be in touch to arrange an installation date that suits you. Special shapes and custom colour matches will naturally add to the lead time. We also offer an express air freight option, which reduces the lead time to 4-6 weeks and is available for a surcharge. Please be aware that the lead time can fluctuate throughout the year. When placing your order, we will always let you know the current lead time.

Do you work weekends?+-

Our opening hours are Monday- Friday 8:30am until 6pm. We will do our best to schedule your measure appointment at a time and date that is convenient for you. Our team can answer any questions you may have over the phone or via email.

Our shutters are custom-made to your windows. There’s no such thing as one size fits all whether you’re looking to cover half or the full height of a window.

We supply the highest quality product in the market and offer you a diverse range of materials available for every taste, requirement, and home.

Our window shutters are a perfect dressing option for all rooms and styles, from the small sash in the bathroom to the large bay in the living room.
