Being right on our doorstep, we often have the pleasure of installing shutters in Barnes and the surrounding areas. This beautiful area has a suburb feel which is rare for areas in central London and makes it an exceptionally appealing area to live for those that want quick access to the centre whilst maintaining a family atmosphere.

This living room features a stunning squared bay window which adds a lovely character to the room. Shutters make a fantastic addition to bay windows as they open up a range of benefits to the room as well as ensuring that this lovely bay shape is not lost to the window dressing. This custom made window dressng make them the perfect solution for any window no matter the shape – a particularly attractive feature for bay windows which add so much character to a room and where you do not want to loose shape. Other benefits enjoyed by installing shutters to a window include increased privacy, temperature and light control as well as enjoying the luxury aesthetic that shutters provide.

Our hardwood material has been used for these shutters, a very popular choice for bay windows thanks to its lightweight wooden panels making for a practical and beautiful furniture finish for panels. A painted white colour has been selected in our Pure White colour which is a stunning bright white that pairs fabulously with the green tone selected for the walls.

Café style shutters are frequently chosen for living room shutters as this is a good example of a room where enhanced privacy is desirable, particularly at ground floor level, but full light blockage is not often required.

Without a tilt rod for slat control is featured along with 76mm slats. This provides a sleek and contemporary look to the shutters giving a large profile and allowing slats to be manoeuvred by simply pushing a single slat in the panel or slat section.

This clean profiling has also been completed with the use of a plain stile whereby shutter frames have a plain finish rather than the alternative beaded stile where a decorative ridge is added as a decorative detail.

There are 8 panels featured on these shutters, alternating between left and right openings dependent on where the shutter sits on the panel. T-posts and bay posts are features hidden behind or amongst the panels but important ones that help with the overall build quality of the shutter. These details offer structural support to the shutters as well as allowing for a smooth transition from shutter to shutter in the corners of the bays rather than butting the frames together.
