A client of ours wanted a traditional look for their suburban bathroom but had very little room to play with because of the bath’s positioning, so they gave us a call and we came to the rescue.

Surbiton is where our client brought us this time with the always beautiful Hampton Court Park just around the corner from this suburban dream. We knew our shutters were the perfect choice for this bathroom with the bath being up against the wall and the window itself being so large in a room that demands privacy.

The bathroom has always been the unsung hero of the home with it being such an intimate space to have to yourself. A space to shut out the world and relax. And with the space being quite so minimal with a smooth, stone finish, a very traditional set of designs made sense as a juxtaposition. As this fitting is for a bathroom, it made sense that the client also went for our long-lasting, wet room shutter material of Waterproof. Like all the materials we offer in our range, this material is resistant to chipping, warping, fading and cracking, making it even more long-lasting, acting as an addition to any home’s foundation.

Tier on Tier is the most flexible style in our range of shutter styles with optimal manoeuvrability for the panels, allowing the user to customise their access to natural light while maintaining total privacy. Along with this style, the client went for a very traditional look when it came to the Classic Slat Size and the inclusion of a Tilt Rod which harks back to the origin of plantation shutters.

Further illustrating our clients desire for a traditional design, they went for the classic colour that our clients choose for their bathrooms, Silk White with the crisp Stainless Steel hinges. The final result has a differentiated feel to it from the utilitarian styles that we see a lot of in today’s designs.

So, with that, the designs were sent off to our manufacturer and within a short time, they arrived at our home in Battersea. Our especially trained, in-house team of fitters darted South from us and to our client’s home and had these stunning shutters up in no time, ready to be enjoyed.

So, what do you think of our latest addition to the borough of Kingston Upon Thames? Does the traditional look work for you or would you have gone for something with more of a modern feel? As always Plantation Shutters are the perfect choice for any busy family as they are durable, easy to maintain, offer privacy, light control and of course style!
